Abstract

The aim of the project was to design an emergency system for several Swiss cantons. Namely for Boelchen, Delta, Farnsburg, Homburg, Gelterkinden, Wenslingen Oltingen, Wintersingen, Wisenberg, Sissach, Monthey, Laufental for connection to the 112 international emergency service, commanders and fire brigade units.

Our services

• Analysis and design of the architecture for the establishment and operation of the service including connection to other Integrated Rescue System organizations

• Design, development, installation and maintenance of a system for creating and managing the rescue management system, including training of workers

• Technical and user support 24 hours a day

Condition before implementation

Intervention information was sent to the pager of the emergency crew. The intervention commander always decided about deployment of the units and became a dispatcher. Units only had the information passed to them on the pager before the intervention, without the use of underlying maps, navigation or any other data. Activity statuses were sent using the transmitter, so the commander did not have a precise view of the movements of each crew.

Condition after implementation

The intervention commander has a complete overview of the situation. With GINA Central, they can see real-time movement of all intervention units and can easily coordinate them. When receiving an event, it selects the participating units and sends intervention through a GINA Tablet. Crews are using the full functionality of GINA Tablet, including navigation, map layers, or a data warehouse including their own documents. Units can also send pictures to the commander via the Tablet, which makes it easier to assess the possible need to send additional units or other rescue organizations.
